Laurene M. Wycoff, 75, of Melbourne died May 18 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines. The cause of death is unknown at this time, pending an investigation by the medical examiner.
Laurene M. Day was born Oct. 18, 1919, to James and Mildred Robertson Day. She was raised in the Nevada and Shipley areas. She was a 1937 graduate of Shipley High School.
She married Maurice Wycoff Dec. 8, 1940 in Nevada. She worked at the ASC office and with the Donnelley marketing Corporation in Nevada.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne, where she was active in the Women's Fellowship group. She was a member of the Three C Club and the Ladies' Aid in Shipley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Day, her brother, Raymond Day and her sister, Leona Scott.
She is survived by her husband Maurice Wycoff of Melbourne; her daughters, Charlene Hrnick of State Center and Charon Samson of Caliente, Nevada; a son Mark Wycoff of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, James Day of Springfield, Missouri; her sisters Juanita Switzer of Nevada, and Ilo May Haines of Nevada,; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Pursel-Davis Funeral Home, Marshalltown.
