Baptized Kirkby Laythorpe, Lincolnshire, 19 September 1609, son of William Dyer. Milliner from London who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635. First settled in Boston; moved to Portsmouth RI in 1638, & Newport RI in 1639. Died before 24 Oct 1677, when his widow sued Samuel Dyer's widow.
Married (1) at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster, Middlesex, 27 Oct 1633, Mary Barrett. She was hanged as a Quaker at Boston, 1 Jun 1660. They had 7 children: William, Samuel, premature daughter, Henry, William, Mahershallahashbaz (son), Mary Ward, & Charles.
(2) By about 1664 Katherine ____. She was living in 1687.
They had one more child.
