Austin is the son of Arizona State Treasurer, Dean Martin and his wife, Kerry.
Unfortunately Kerry died shortly after Austin's birth due to the rupture of a rare liver tumor.

"Last night, Austin was reunited with his mother, Kerry," a tearful Martin said in a news conference at Phoenix Children's Hospital, where Austin was brought by helicopter late Monday.
"While that was not the miracle everyone was praying for, we received the miracle we needed. . . . I and my family members were able to experience the miracle of holding Austin in our arms and hugging him before he passed on."
