DANVILLE -- Patricia A. "Patty" Canfield, 58, of Long Pond Road, died May 11, 2009, at Exeter on Hampton after a courageous 12-year battle with lung disease and lung transplant.
She was born April 12, 1951, in Winchester, Mass., to Stephen and Rita M. (Carey) Leonardis. She grew up in Wakefield, Mass., and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1969.
She lived in Raymond for 25 years and summered on Great Pond in Kingston since 1973. She worked for several local area financial institutions for numerous years in both the banking and mortgage fields prior to her illness.
Her life revolved around supporting her daughter, Stephanie and her two grandsons, Michael and Benjamin.
Through her illness, she became involved in supporting other pre- and post-lung transplant patients associated with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She also volunteered at New England Organ Bank and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
She was a member and former deaconess of the First Congregational Church of Kingston.
IN HER LIFE: She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Canfield of Danville, her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Mike Robinson of Nottingham; two grandsons, Michael and Benjamin Robinson; and one sister, Maureen Conley of Charlotte, N.C.
SERVICES: Calling hours aare Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Kingston. The Rev. Aaron Goodro will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston.
