Bertha R. Kistler, 72, of 317 E. Hazelwood St., Morton, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday (May 6, 1997) at her residence. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, with the Rev. Earl Cecil officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Burial of ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
One sister, Florence Sutter, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kistler was born Sept. 21, 1924, a daughter of Nathan and Nettie Cohen Caplan. She married Cecil E. Kistler on Sept. 7, 1947, in Peoria.
She was an executive secretary for the DuPage County Health Department from 1970 until her retirement in 1984.
She was a member of several square dance clubs in the Peoria and Mesa, Ariz., areas.
