John Henne, 70, of Dayton, formerly of Piqua, died at 10:20 p.m. Friday May 22, 2009. at Riverside Nursing Center, Dayton.

He was born April 9, 1939 in Piqua, to the late Frederick J. and Margie (Barker) Henne.

Surviving is one brother and sister-in-law: Walter and Kathy Henne of Piqua; two sisters and brother-in-law,: Ricki and Dr. Michael Mainardi of San Mateo, Calif. and Julie Lehman of Berkley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister: Sally DeMoss.

John graduated from the Ohio Military Institute in Cincinnati and attended Riverside of Miami County.

John loved watching television and enjoyed following the NASA space program.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, with the Rev. Fr. Martin Fox officiating.
