He married Missouri Ann Moore on December 20, 1848, in Sonoma, Sonoma, California. They had eight children in 21 years. He died on November 7, 1890, in Healdsburg, Sonoma, California, at the age of 68 yrs, 5 mos, 26 dys, and was buried in Windsor, Sonoma, California.
