At a young age, she moved to Battle Creek with her parents and grew up there. Many of her years were devoted to teaching.She taught at Correctionville & Onawa, then for 35 years at Omaha, Nebraska.
After retiring, she returned to the farm to take care of her mother, north of Battle Creek.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Sauer, of Shenandoah, Iowa.
