Obituary states date and place of birth. She was born in Volhynia (now modern day Ukraine). Also states 3 daughters, 6 sons and 13 grandchildren survive and that 2 daughters and 4 sons preceded her in death in 1910. (Total of 15 children.) We have names of 11 children.
On the WI census, she stated that she was the mother of 15 children and that 9 of them were living as of 1900. She may have had at least 2 more babies while in Volhynia. It is also possible that there may have been another set of twins who were stillborn.

OBITUARY from Delafield Times on April 1, 1910:
MRS. HELENA ADAMS DIED LAST SATURDAY
Well known lady crossed the river from which there is no return - passed three score. Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. F. Korsmyer, last Saturday evening. Mrs. Helena Adams, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Deceased was born in Brombery, Germany. She was married to Ludwig Adams in 1867 and emigrated to America in 1879, settling in Franklin County, Nebraska. In 1881 they moved to Shawanee Co., Wis., where they lived on a farm until October 6th, 1909, when they moved to North Dakota, taking a claim in Billings County.
Deceased leaves to mourn her loss a husband, three daughters, six sons and thirteen grandchildren. Two daughters and four sons preceeded her across the river from which there is no return.
Deceased was a member of the German Lutheran church, in which faith she was confirmed at the age of fifteen years.
Funeral services were held at the house at 11 a.m. and at the church at 2 p.m., yesterday, conducted by Rev. E. P. C. Essig, of Miles City, Montana. Interment was in the Belfield cemetery.

NOTE: Belfield Cemetery in 1910 was known as the Belfield Lutheran Cemetery in 1991 when this obituary was received. There is no record of the location of the grave of Mrs. Adam. Her burial would have been in the older section of the cemetery. There are quite a few graves without markers in the old section, as many of the original graves were marked with wooden crosses which are no longer there. I've typed the obituary exactly as it was in the newspaper.
