Dorothy M. McNeight, 98, of Keokuk, died at 10:25 PM Sunday, November 9, 2003, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
She was born October 30, 1905 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lemuel and Sarah Blomily Post. She married Everett McNeight in 1925. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1994. She and her husband moved to Keokuk in 1939. They owned and operated Tri-State Farm Store and later owned and operated Tri-Sate Motors.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She had been a member of the YWCA Board, Ida Mansfield Circle of King's Daughters, and Ladies of the Elks. She had volunteered at George Washington School and enjoyed working with kindergarten students where she was known as "Mrs. Mac". She pursued learning and knowledge throughout her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Stoddard of Iowa City, Iowa and a granddaughter, Marlana Kay Hayes of West Linn, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Janet.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 13, 2003, at DeJong's Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Blois officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Church or the Salvation Army.
