Philander (Mac) ELMORE born June 26, 1864 in Menard County, Illinois. Pioneer cattle rancher and auctioner. Philander Elmore was the first person to in the USA to pioneer the pen feeding of cattle in a feed lot just outside of Dodge City Kansas in early 1891. Son of Peter Francis Elmore and Francisw Elizabeth Close. He was a son of the descendants of the American Revolution. Out lived two of three wives. First wife was Kathy(Katie)Knapply who he married on January 29, 1885 in Daviess County, Missouri, second wife Alice Rose Kimbrel who he married on July 9, 1899 in Spearville, Ford County, Kansas, and his third wife Lela Harger now living in Kingman Arizona.
