James Marshal Stevenson was the seventh of ten known children of James Hall Stevenson (1803-1886) and Emily Clement Janes (1817-1899), who married 25 Dec 1833 at Hot Springs, Hot Springs County, Arkansas.
James married first to Nancy (went by Nannie) Roxie Cary (1853-1914) on 07 Jan 1874 at Coryell County, Texas. James and Nannie were the parents of seven known children, namely:
1. James Francis Stevenson (1875-1927)
2. John Thomas Stevenson (1876-1958)
3. Mary Beulah Stevenson Edwards (1878-1923)
4. Emily Elizabeth Stevenson (1880-1882)
5. Robert Carl Stevenson (1882-1927)
6. Lillian Agnes Stevenson (1884-1890)
7. Hattie May Stevenson Bush (1891-1929)
After Nannie died, James remarried to the widow, Mrs. Hayte (or Hady?) Surlena Ketner Cary Ogle (went by Surlena or Sally) (1872-1938) in presumably Texas. James and Sally had no known children.
