He was born in Frazer community of Wayne County, KY , on December 29, 1902, the Son of SAM and ELIZABETH (WEAVER) MERCER. Both Parents preceded him in death. He married FLORA (CANADA) RAMSEY, who preceded him in death. He is survivied by 2 Sisters, Mrs Glenn Cooper and Mrs CECIL COOPER, both of Monticello, KY. Preceded him in death are 4 Brothers, CARL MERCER, OLIVER MERCER, RICHARD MERCER, and JOHN MERCER; 2 Sisters Mrs CECIL CORRELL and Mrs LINNIE COOPER. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Prior to going to Detroit, MI, he operated a General Store at Frazer, KY. He went to Detroit in 1925, where he was employed by Dana Corporation, in the late forties and has lived in Monticello ever since. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 25, 1997 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Bro Coy Webb and Jim Kingry officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cem., Wayne CO., KY. Marvin S.
