Levi Nathaniel Yancy was born October 13, 1861 in Pickens County, Georgia to Floyd Yancy and Ellender Eveline Freeman Yancy.

He married Martha M. "Mattie" Goodwin, a daughter of Theophilus Goodwin and Mary Matilda Hyde Goodwin White.

Levi N. Yancy Goes To Reward

Levi N. Yancy, beloved county resident, aged 73, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J.M. Glasgow, of Hartselle route 2, following a two weeks illness. Mr. Yancy was a prominent member of the Baptist church. Funeral services will be conducted at Johnson Chapel at 2:30 by Rev. W. E. Pritchard, interment being made there with Peck directing.

The deceased is survived by four sons, W. W. Yancy of Tanner Route 1, C. V. Yancy of Athens Route 3, G. C. Yancy of Tanner Route 1, J. L. Yancy of Lacon Route 1; five daughters, Mrs. J. M. Hitt of Jonesboro, Ark., Mrs. J. J. Hitt of Trinity Route 1, Mrs. J. M. Glasgow of Hartselle Route 2, Mrs. D. G. Roberts of Danville Route 3, Mrs. J. Q. Prater of Frost, Texas and 37 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
