cause of death: typhoid fever
MO death cert. #30849-B

Bob, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, of Clara, was born Feb. 10, 1891, and departed this life Wednesday morning, September 8, 1920.

He was married to Miss Bessie Blankenship, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Blankenship, deceased. To this union were born four sweet children, whose ages vary from 1 to 7, all of whom survive.

Having grown to manhood near Houston, he was well and favorably known to our people and his many friends were deeply grieved when they learned that he had crossed the crystal stream. Having never fully recovered from influenza, Bob was unable to withstand the strain of the fever.

Bob is survived by wife and four small children, aged father and mother, two brothers and one sister, and relatives and friends unnumbered.

Why one so young and needed so much should be taken away is beyond the mind of man. No one but our Heavenly Father knows.

Mr. Scott Taylor conducted a short service at the grave, then a lovely song was sung as our loved one was laid away to rest and sleep til the Resurrection morn.

Oh, that dear one, how we loved him,
Oh, how hard to give him up!
But an angel came down for him,
And removed him from our flock.
How joyful is the hope that lingers,
When loved ones cross death's sea,
That we, when all earth's toils are ended,
With them shall ever be.
No parting words shall e'er be spoken,
In Yonder home, so fair,
But songs of joy and peace and gladness,
When we meet up there.
