Mrs. Marcellene K. Swint. 74 of
920 Ridgemont Rd., died
Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Swint was the widow of
Dr. Benjamin H. Swint, a widely-known
Charleston physician who died in
1940. She was a member of
Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are five daughters,
Mrs. F. J. (Berneice) Sheets. Mrs.
Arthur (Elizabeth) Power and Mrs.
Calvin E. (Marcellene) Beckelheimer
of Charleston, Mrs.W. Norbert (Patrica)
Shane of Huntington.N.Y., and Sister
Agnes DeSales of Wheeling: two sons.
Benjamin Harrison Swint and John P.
Swint of Charleston: two sisters. Mrs.
Wiliam P. Coffey of Charleston and
Mrs. M. L. Gleason of Richland.
Wash.: a brother, Charles Smith
of Lancaster, Ky., and 19 grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated
tomorrow at. 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart
Catholic Church by Bishop Thomas J.
McDowell of the Wheeling Diocese.
Archbishop John J. Swint of
the Wheeling Diocese will officiate
at the burial service in Mount
Olivet Cemetery.
The body was to be taken
to the home at noon today. Owen and
Barth Funeral Home in charge of
arrangments.
The Rosary will be recited tonight at
8 o'clock.

Swint Will Name 7 Beneficiaries

Seven children are to share the
estate of Mrs. Marcellene Swint,
widow of a prominent doctor, B.
H. Swint.
Mrs. Swint, 74, of 920 Ridgemont.
Rd., died Sept. 3.. Her husband
was a brother of Archbishop
John J. Swint of Wheeling.
Under terms of the will admitted
to probate Friday, Mrs.
Swint stipulated t h a t her sons
and five daughters are to share,
equally in the estate.
The beneficiaries are:
Benjamin Harrison Swint Jr.
and John P. Swint, sons, of
Charleston: Berneice Sheets,
Elizabeth Power and Marcellene
Beckelheimer of Charleston, Patricia
Shane of Huntington and
Caroline Swint (Sister Agnes De-
Sales) of Wheeling, daughters.
Benjamin Swint is the executor
of the will and estate appraisers
are W. T. O'Farrell, Ray Rowan
and B. J. Pettigrew Jr.
