HUNTLING, Robert Martin "Bob" 87 years old. Bob was born in December 1921, to Bert and Mable Huntling in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Phyllis Steiger. He is survived by his wife, Jean, daughters, Karen and Randy Fisher of Reno, Nev., Kathy Morrell of Lancaster and grandchildren, Courtney and Kyle Morrell. Bob graduated from high school in Grand Island, Neb. After Pearl Harbor he enlisted in the Untied States Army Air Corp. He spent over three years in the South Pacific. After the war he had several jobs including the theater business, special agent for the railroad and a licensed flight instructor. He had his own airplane at the
Omaha airport where he met his wife Jean of 50 years. He went back to school to be more proficient in the electronics field. After school, he joined the Federal Aviation Agency. He retired after 30 years working in Cheyenne, Wyo., and then El Toro Air Base is Southern California. Besides airplanes his interests were his family, camping, boating and the Elks. He was a member of the United States Power Squadron where he held several offices and became the Commander. After retirement, Bob and Jean moved to Palmdale in 1990. He was a member of the Lancaster Elks #1625, the American Legion, Hollywood Yacht Club and the Desert Sunrise Camping Club. Bob was a wonderful husband and father. We will miss his kindness, thoughtfulness and sense of humor. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Lancaster Elks Lodge #1625, 240 E. Ave K, Lancaster, Calif. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, May 1, 2009, at Westminster Memorial Park, 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, Calif., followed by Interment at The Good Shepard Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lancaster Elks Major Projects which benefits childrens charities.
