Mr. Haas was a native and lifelong resident of Kiln. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln and was former owner of O'Haas Grocery in Kiln.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Orianona Williams Haas; his parents, Jeremiah and Mary Hart Haas; a son, John Alden Haas; and three daughters, Norma Farve, Marie Lee and Barbara Jewel Haas.
Survivors include two sons, Sgt. First Class Melvin D. Haas (U.S.A. Ret.) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and John Edward Haas of Bay St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Monday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, with burial in Bayou CoCo Cemetery in Kiln.
