Sarah married Henry Jackson Lewis 11 August 1874 in Blount County, Alabama. Sarah was the mother of five Children; Hugh T Lewis, Remus Bennett Lewis, Vollie Lewis, Margaret Victoria Lewis Adams, Lemuel David Lewis, Joseph Hendrix Lewis.
Sarah died 12 November 1894 in a fire accident. Her dress caught fire from the fireplace. She ran and her son caught her rolled it out but she swallowed too much smoke and died.
Sarah is buried in Salem Primitive Baptist Church, Brooksville, Blount County, Alabama.
