O. Fred Hedden, 83, of North Township Road 105, Kansas, died Saturday at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
He was born near Kansas to Phillip E. and Maude D. (Humbert) Hedden. He married Mae Valenti on Oct. 20, 1940, in Defiance, and she died Feb. 6, 1996.
Mr. Hedden retired from Pfizer Co. in Gibsonburg in 1978 after 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of Fostoria American Legion Post 73.
Mr. Hedden coached softball teams, participated in horseshoe tournaments and enjoyed fishing and coon hunting.
Surviving are son Ron Hedden of Fostoria, daughter Cindy Korb of Fremont, brothers Paul Hedden of Columbus and Lawrence Hedden of Tiffin, sisters Helen Yoder of Fostoria and Pauline Pasch of Fremont, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
His parents, wife, brother Harold Hedden and sisters Leha Niemoto and Susan Gee are deceased.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial: Kansas Cemetery.
Memorials: American Heart Association.
