JASPER -- Funeral for Clara Briscoe Gatlin, 97, of Jasper was to be today at 11 a.m. at Collins Burke Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Powell officiating.
Burial was to be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Danville.
Mrs. Gatlin died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1903, in Marshall County to John Sebron Briscoe and Lillie Briscoe. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Hicks of Lynnville, Tenn.; two brothers, John Earl Briscoe of Haleyville and Dr. D. G. Briscoe of Jasper; two sisters, Lorus Baggett of Birmingham and Mary Berry of Mount Olive; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Jasper First Baptist Church or Hartselle First Baptist Church.
