Holcombe lost his battle to cancer April 12 at the age of 71. Handsome Bill, as he was known, offered tours of his western town, Lonesome Dove, to senior groups, nursing homes and handicapped children. He showcased his many talents along with Lonesome Dove mascot Miss Buddie.
Father and mother, J.D. and Cora Holcombe, and daughter, Wendy Holcombe, preceded him in death.
