Charles Ray Earls, 69, of West Plains, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Missouri. He was born October 10, 1933 in Howell County, Missouri, the son of Jesse Ray and Nell May (Huddleston) Earls.
On May 19, 1973, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Wilma Ford.
Mr. Earls was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He retired from dairy farming, after 16 years.
He attended the Junction Hill Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Earls of the family home; five daughters, Charlene Wharton of West Plains, MO; Carlene Niswonger and husband James, of Lake City, Arkansas; Cylene Wallace of Billings; Sharon Bacon and husband, John, of Ozark, Missouri; and Linda Bennett and husband, Craig, of Willow Springs, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Jerry Dwayne Earls and wife, Shirley May, of West Plains, MO; two sisters, Shirley Vonallmen of West Plains, MO; and Brenda Myers and husband, Doug, of Rover, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jerrad Bennett, and three brothers, Jesse Lawann Earls, Dillon Floyd Earls, and Edwin Doil Earls.
Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at Carter Funeral Chapel of West Plains, with Rev. Dwain Galiher officiating. Burial was in Elk Creek Cemetery, Howell County, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
