ELINOR IRENE STEGMAN born March 21, 1923 in Chanute, Kansas passed away April 19, 2009, in Lancaster, Calif. She was a resident of the Valley since 1958, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Antelope Valley Genealogical Society. Elinor enjoyed knitting, reading, and gardening, but what she enjoyed most was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 65 years James Joseph Stegman, children; John (Barbara) Stegman of Lancaster, Calif., Vicki (Bill) Wilson of Quartz Hill, Calif., Peggy Meyer of Ashland, Oregon, Diane Stegman of Lancaster, Calif., and Jeanie Stegman of Lancaster, Calif., 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude for the support of Hoffman Hospice during her final month. Elinor passed away after a long illness of Myelodysplasia and CHF. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with rosary prayer service at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Halley-Olsen-Murphy, Lancaster. Mass of the Resurrection to be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
