Johann Adam Hoover immigrated from Trippstadt, Palatinate, Germany* in 1750 to Woodbury Township, Huntingdon county, which is now Huston Township, Blair County. He was the father of four children by his first wife and 12 by his second wife, Catherine (Kramer) Hoover.
He is buried beside his son Elder John Kramer Hoover in the Brumbaugh Cemetery in Fredericksburg. In 1997 commom decendents Andy Mino of Graham, Wash., and Marilyn Becker of Belleville, Ill. had a monument erected here for Johann and his wife Catherine.
*Parents are said to have been: Johann Jacob Hoover b.19 JUL 1699, and Maria Barbara Edinger b. 1704, both in Trippstatdt, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany.
