Fannie's parents are Monroe Howard Stroope and Matilda Jane (Mary) Howell, from Arkansas and Alabama, respectively. Her known sibling is Mattie Josephine Stroope.

She married George Brooks, September 6, 1888 in Texas. Their known children are Bertha May, Jennie Josephine (Josie) and Clarence Olin Brooks.

Suggested edit: Mrs. George Brooks, 76, was a native Texan, born in Hill County on 25 February 1873. She was married on 8 September 1888, and she and her husband came to Young County in 1911. The couple lived in Jean, where he was a farmer u until they moved to Olney in 1945. She was one of the oldest congregational members of the Church of Christ in Young County. She became a member of the Church of Christ in 1885.

Services were held in the Jean Baptist Church officiated by William O. Hall, minister of the Church of Christ from Olney.

Survived by her husband; one son; two daughters; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
