Ernest Franklin Turtle, 82, 921 Exchange, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday at Graham hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years.

Born Feb. 23, 1890 in Clark County, Mo., he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Margaret Rodgers Turtle.

He married Anna Ethel Overhulser March 24, 1915 in Kahoka.

He was an employee of the Hubinger Co. and retired after 27 years. He had been a resident of Keokuk for the past 47 years.

He was a member of the First Christian church.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Howard E. of Toledo, Harold R. and Floyd W., both of Keokuk; two daughters, Mrs Lloyd (Anna Louise) Apple, Keokuk, Mrs. Adam (Gertrude) Yablonski, Sun Valley Calif.; one sister, Lilly Justice, Kahoka; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, neices, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Marie, three sisters, one brother, one half-sister and one half-brother.
