The funeral of Hardin J. Moss, Loveland’s oldest merchant and long time resident was conducted from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, March 23, by Rev. Salisbury of St. Joseph, Mo. Music was furnished by Misses Wilma Cox, Sina Conyers of Missouri Valley and Mrs. M. J. Fouts of Loveland. One of the largest crowds in the history of the village was in attendance. Hardin J. was born on a farm in Pottawattamie county, Nov. 19, 1855, and died at the Nicholas Seen hospital, Omaha, Mar. 20. He was the oldest son of Joseph and Jane Moss deceased, and with the exception of a few months lived his entire life in or near Loveand. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Rosa Blunt, Mrs. Bert Lewis of Missouri Valley and two sons, Eliga of Spokane and Homer living in Nevada, also eight grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. Several very beautiful floral offerings were evidence of the kind feeling neighbors and friends felt toward the deceased. Interment was in Branson cemetery.
