An unusual "zinker", a zinc monument manufactured by the Monumental Bronze Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Sometimes called "white bronze", these markers were offered as low-cost alternatives to bronze and were made only between the 1870s and early 1900s. Since the markers were hollow, it is said they were sometimes used as contraband containers by prohibitionists and outlaws.
