Son of Ebenezer Prime & Experience Conklin; husband of Mary Cotrel [1818-1898]; Claudius married Mary in 1840 at New York City; a partner with his brother Ezra Conklin Prime in the thimble factory at Huntington; thimble maker - 1850 Census - Town of Huntington, Suffolk County; involved in the notorious Kelsey Murder or "Tar Town Murder" of 1872; due to social status and wealth of the murderers and the poverty of the victim, no one was convicted of this crime; Claudius died at Huntington, Suffolk County
