Mr. Strickland was born March 2, 1936 in Colleton County, a son of the late David Newton Strickland and Bennie Mae Chassereau Strickland.
Bob worked with his father and brother on the family farm throughout his life and was a member of Ruffin Baptist Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Bob is survived by a brother, Bud Strickland and wife Jean of Ruffin; a sister, Sue Myrick and husband Buddy of Allendale; two nephews, Dave Strickland (Rita) and Louie Heinemann, and a niece, Susan Brewer (Billy).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM July 20, 2012, in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Doctors Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
