Funeral services for Lucille Hett, 65, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Aulne United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Haines officiating.

A well known resident of the Aulne/Marion community, she was a popular beautician and the wife of Ernest Hett.

She Suffered a massive stroke Friday while visiting at a cousin's home in Newton. She never regained consciousness and died the following day, Saturday, November 1, at the hospital in Newton.

Music at the service was by a vocal quartet composed of Rod Just, Mike Freuchting, Kevin Fruechting, and Terry Fruechting, Lynn Just was the accompanist.

Wanda Williams was the organist at the service.

Casket bearers were Tracy Hett, Travis Hett, Dustin Hett, Bob Klien, Tim Klien and David McGinness.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery with Thompson Harp Zeiner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established in her name at Aulne United Methodist Church.

The eldest of the four children of Cornelius and Bertha (Wall) Klein, she was born October 13, 1925, at Peabody. The family moved to the Marion community where she attended school graduating from Marion High School in the class of 1943.

She was married to Ernest Hett on November 6, 1943. The couple lived on a farm near Aulne. They had one son, Lyndon, and one daughter, Julie. Shortly after their marriage she attended a school of cosmetology in Wichita and following graduation set up a beauty shop in her home.

Several years later she and her husband began operating the popular craft shop known as The Copper Shed. She assisted her husband; doing the bookkeeping and displaying the various articles. She was a gracious hostess to all who visited the business.

A member of Aulne United Methodist Church,she willingly served in many capacities. Especially appreciated was her talent for floral arrangements. She supplied the church with altar flowers each Sunday.

Music was another of her talents. She played the piano and marimba, and also sang in the Church Choir.

She espically enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives at her home, which was always open to them.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband Ernest, of the home; one son, Lyndon Hett of Marion; one daughter, Julie Nelson of Florence two brothers; Kenneth Klien of Bishop, GA and Wayne of Wichita; one sister, Ruth McGinness of Marion; her stepmother, Vivian Klein of Wichita and one half brother, Robert Klein of Moundridge; one half sister, Vicki Sauceda of Riverdale; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
