William Lent Dies; Aged 89
William Lewis Lent, 89, died Friday evening August 7, 1953, at his home, 13 Dutchess Terrace. He had been in failing health since May. Mr. Lent would have reached his 90th birthday August 20th.
Born in Naugatuck, Connecticut, he was the son of Robert and Catherine Conklin Lent. On January 21, 1890, he married Mary F. Felter at Glasco, New York. He had resided in Beacon about 55 years.
Mr. Lent was a steam engineer and was employed at the Dennings Point Brick Yards for about 40 years, retiring a number of years ago. His father at one time operated the Lent Brick Yards at Saugerties.
Surviving are two daughters, Hazel Lent and Helen Lent, with whom he resided: two brothers, Harry L. Lent of Beacon and John W. Lent of Glasco, and a sister, Mrs. Lillian L. Amouroux of Beacon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the residence, 13 Dutchess Terrace. The Rev. Ralph E. Spoor will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot in Trinity Cemetery, Saugerties, under the direction of Hignell Funeral Home. Friends may call at the residence Sunday evening and Monday afternoon and evening.
