In 1873 Mr. Hall was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Bell, a daughter of Henry Bell, a prominent farmer of Polk county, and of this union seven children have been born, five of whom are now living, namely: Clara, the wife of Henry Denniston, a farmer of Collins township; Charles H., a practicing attorney of Nevada, this state; Grace, now the wife of O. G. Smith, of Nevada; Milo, of Des Moines, Iowa; and Jennie, who is living at home and is attending the Collins high school...."

The children present at the funeral were: Mrs. Jane Hall, of Collins; Mrs. Alice Beach, of Zearing; and Mrs. Amanda Elliott, of Berwick. Mrs. Ida Dunlap, who resides in Minnesota, was unable to be present..."

BIRTH-SPOUSE-ISSUE-DEATH-BURIAL: THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 14, 1921, page 1, column 5. "MRS. J. M. HALL. - Mrs. J. M. Hall died at her home in Collins last Friday at the age of sixty-eight years. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Collins Sunday and interment was made in the Peoria cemetery. Mrs. Hall had been quite ill for some time, but was improving and thought to be recovering when she suddenly succumbed to an attack of heart trouble. Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband, two sons, Charles H., of Nevada, and Milo, of Collins; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Denniston and Mrs. Mattie Biddick, of Collins, and Mrs. Grace Smith, of Toledo; also a number of grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Hall at one time resided in Maxwell."
