Arthur Genter, from Louisiana, was an Oiler on the ill-fated US Merchant Marine tanker SS Oklahoma, when it was torpedoed by a German U-boat, off the Brunswick, Georgia coastline on April 8, 1942. He is here at Palmetto cemetery along with 4 of his mates who died during that dreadful night, during World War II.
