WILLIAM LITTLETON DIES AT ANITA
ANITA --- William Hobart Littleton, 59, died at his home in Anita early Sunday morning. He had been in ill health for several years.
Born June 12, 1897 in Neosha Falls, Kan., he was the son of Charles and Clara Littleton, and on May 1, 1921, was married at Elliott to Beatrice Atkinson. He served in the navy during World War I and has been a member of the American Legion for 35 years. A resident of Anita for about 15 years, Mr. Littleton served as a justice of the peace for several terms. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Lee Littleton of Walnut, Cecil and Duane Littleton, both of Anita; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Bailey of Atlantic; 13 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Lena Lines, San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Robison of Denison, Kan., Mrs. Helen Eckert of Mayetta, Kan., Mrs. Letha Bowland of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Kathryn Keentz (sic) of Boulder, Colo., and two brothers, Clarence Littleton of Denison, Kan., and Floyd Littleton of Valley Falls, Kan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of Christ with the Rev. Mayo Proctor officiating. The remains will lie in state at Long's Funeral home until the service hour. Military rites will be held at the graveside in Evergreen cemetery.
