From Scout Finch:
I knew Esther in the 90's when I taught, along with her daughter Phyllis, at Holy Rosary Catholic School on Cox Street in Shreveport, LA. If you ever had met Esther, you would have never forgotten her! She wasn't as big as a bar of soap, but had a deep husky voice and believe me she could tell it like it is! She would substitute teach to stay busy and the kids adored her. She would bring a big ole bag of candy to keep them in check (yes, it worked for her!) She would do her ninja karate moves in the front of the classroom if things got too rowdy yelling, "Watch out! I know karate, kids!" I knew some Italian cuss words, so we had fun blurting those out to each other when we were on duty!
