LANDRUM - Mrs. Mary Catherine Ballew, 94, widow of the late D. L. Ballew, died at a Spartanburg rest home about 12:30 p.m.
Saturday.
Mrs. Ballew was born and reared in upper Greenville County and was a daughter of the late Francis and Caroline Moss Gosnell.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in upper Greenville County.
Surviving are three sons, J. E. Ballew of Landrum and W. L. Ballew and R. B. Ballew of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. J.M. Barnett of Landrum, Mrs. Connie Howard of Inman and Mrs. Bertha McDaniel of Lodi, N.J.; two brothers, Marion and JesseGosnell of Landrum, Route 2; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Morris of Landrum, Mrs. Cleve Campbell of Arcadia, Mrs. Matttie Pierce ofLandrum, Route 2 and Mrs. Linda Plumley of Inman; 39 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. John Revis, A. T. Howard,Broadus Blue and C. W. Farrar. Burial will be in the Church cemetary.
These grandsons will be pallbearers: Clarence McDaniel, Shubert and Merle Ballew, Oland Howard, Julian Barnett and Bobby Gilmore.
Deacons of the Church will be honorary pallbearers. They will assemble at the Church at 3:45 p.m.
The body will remain at the Petty Funeral Home. After 9:30 a.m. Monday it will be at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Barnett of Landrum."
