Martha Elmanda Sumner Graham, the oldest daughter of Isaac and Jane Sumner was born August 22, 1854 inKentucky and departed this life on December 27, 1929 at the home of her daughterm Mrs Ira Blangy at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 5 days.
In 1870 she was united in marriage to James Henry Graham who preceded her to the Great Beyone on May 30, 1924. To their union twelve children were born, 4 dying in infancy, the eight surviving children who are left to mourn her death are L. G. Graham of Houston, Texas: Mrs Ira Blangy, Mrs Ira Caskey, Mrs Frank Houghtaling and Bud Graham, allof Hume, Mo.: Carl Graham and Mrs Charles Keller of Pleasanton, Kansas and Mrs Ed Wilson of Mulberry, Kansas. Also 25 grandchildren and one brother, L. C. Sumner of Murray, Kentucky and many other relatives and friends.
In an early life she united with the ME Church South and remained a member throughout her life.
She was a kind and loving mother and will be sadley mised by all who knew her.
Funeral services were conducted from the Ira Blangy home Saturday afternoon by Rev. Albert L. Bay, pastor of the Hume ME church. Interment was in the Hume cemetery.
