"Following info is from old Family bible in possession of Dora McClellan of Midlothian, Texas:

William Beavers McClellan married Lavina Frances Shanklin, 4-19-1849, Morgan County, Missouri. They came to Texas about 1866. William was a slave owner. To this union, 10 children were born:
