Alva Lund was born in Leadville, Colorado on April 1st, 1906 and passed away at his home in Colorado Springs on March 10, 1948. He came to Breckenridge from Montezuma where his late father was the mayor. He came to Breckenridge with his mother and sisters in 1920 where he attended Breckenridge High School graduating in 1924. He was employed at the Engle Brothers Exchange Bank of Breckenridge until the end of 1936 when he moved to Fairplay. There he met and married Stella W. Wood in September 1937. To this union twins were born. Alva worked at the Colorado Savings Bank in Fairplay. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of Breckenridge and a Past Master of the A.F. & A.M No. 47. The Masonic Lodges of Breckenridge, Fairplay and Colorado Springs conducted the services at Evergreen cemetery.
