Annie and Martin married December 17, 1911.
Annie and Martin had four children, three who reached adulthood. In 1915, Annie and Martin were baptised together in the Mattaponi River, King William County.
Tragedy came to the young family when Martin died May 27, 1917 from an infection following a ruptured appendix. He was buried at Acquinton Church beside his infant son, George.
Annie was left with three young children. Her father built her a house adjacent to his so she could work and her mother and sibling could help with the children.
Annie later married Robert E. Rice of Keyser, West Virginia, who was also a first cousin to her late husband Martin. The newlyweds moved to Keyser, West Virginia.
Annie and Robert Rice had seven children. She was widowed again in 1939. After losing her second husband, Annie was employed with the Federal Government. At retirement, she held the position of General Service Administration Supervisor. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star ADAH #25 of Mt. Rainier, MD. In 1971, she was selected as Maryland Mother of the Year.
After her death, per her request, her body was cremated and buried beside her daughter Ida May and her husband Orville at George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA.
