It has been recorded that Franklin Owen Andrews outlived 2 of his 3 wives. Records confirm that the number of his children was twenty-one. His first wife Jerusha Rebecca Huggins, had twelve of his children. Three children did not survive to reach adulthood - They were Ellbridge, Emily and an Infant Daughter Andrews. These are the names of surviving nine children - Helen, George, Giles Robert, Abigail, Dewey Dwight, Mary J., Eliza, Charles, and Albert Franklin Andrews.

After they were married in 1834, Franklin O. and Jerusha R. Andrews lived in Sheffield, MA. They were blessed with eight of their twelve children while residing in Sheffield. In 1834, a letter to his father Giles Andrews, indicates Franklin Owen Andrews was visiting or living in White Pigeon Prairie, Michigan Territory. In letters to his father, he wrote of his Giles Andrews logging interests in Michigan. By 1849, Franklin and Jerusha Andrews were living in York, Du Page County, IL. Much of the subject matter in Illinois letters was of a farming nature, with discussions of construction of a school, crops, the weather, and cattle, and the family logging interest in Michigan. In 1865 at Grundy County, IL, the Andrews household consisted of two Males and 7 Females. F.O. Andrews looked after his personal and business interests in Appleton City, St. Clair County, MO. His daughter Abigail Porter, lived with her husband Alva Byington Porter, and four Porter children in St. Clair County, MO.

After Jerusha Andrews died in January 1851, F.O. Andrews married Elizabeth Hotchkiss, in about 1852 in Illinois. By that marriage F.O. & Elizabeth Andrews had six children, named as follows: Emma, Sarah, Harriet, Eveline, Nettie, and Viola Andrews. All of their children were born between 1853 and 1864 in Illinois. This couple later was found living in Saline, Miller County, MO in 1860. Five of Jerusha Rebecca's children, ages ranging from 9 to 17 years of age, were living with them. By 1860, Elizabeth Hotchkiss gave birth to Emma born about 1853, Sarah born about 1855, Harriet born 1856 and Eva Andrews born about 1857. An exception of birthplaces was Dewey D. Andrews and Mary J. Andrews, who were born in Sheffield, Massachusetts, all of Elizabeth's children in the 1860 U.S. Census were born in Illinois. It hasn't been discovered when and where Elizabeth Hotchkiss Andrews died and she was buried.

In about 1856, he married his third and last known wife, Martha Hahn. To this marriage, F.O. and Martha Andrews had four children: Laura, Lavina, Franklin Owen, and Samuel B. Andrews. In the 1900 Census, Martha Andrews was a clarvoyant, and resided in Chicago with a son, Bertes S. Andrews, a real estate dealer. Perhaps he was also called Samuel Andrews. When Franklin Owen Andrews died in 1898, his third wife, Martha survived.
