Jennifer Lynn Kirwan of rural Elburn
A funeral Mass for Jennifer Lynn Kirwan, 17, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at St.Gall Church, corner of Shannon and Route 47, Elburn. Fr. Richard Paddock will officiate. Interment will be in St. Gall Cemetery, Elburn.
She died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998, when she was involved in a car accident near Elburn. Passing in a moment from time into eternity, Jenni stepped from life unto Life and the spirit that so many loved so dearly dances in the Light, one step beyond the limit of our sight.
She was born March 10, 1981, in Downers Grove, the daughter of William C.and Linda S. (nee Franzen) Kirwan.
She began her education in Wheaton and also attended St. Charles schools for a short time before moving to Kaneland where she started third grade.Bright, ambitious and outgoing, Jenni especially loved sports and music.A top athlete in cross country running, track and volleyball, she won dozens of awards and earned numerous trophies but this year was especially proud to have been named to the varsity cheerleading squad and to be chosen as captain of the varsity cross country team.
Jenni was employed at the Elburn Kountry Kettle for several years, where she especially brightened the lives of her senior citizen friends.
She touched the hearts of hundreds whose lives were forever changed because she was `just Jenni'; no matter where she went of what she did, she was simply one in a million.
She is survived by her mother, Linda (Richard) Kelley of Elburn; father, William (Lorrie) Kirwan of Naperville; sister, Lindsay Kirwan of Elburn; brother, Sean (born Jan.18, 1997); maternal grandmother, LaVerne Franzen of Tinley Park; paternal grandparents, William P. and Mary Kirwan of Stuart, Fla.; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Rose Kirwan, also of Stuart; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, she leaves her beloved Golden Retriever, Shilo.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Paul Franzen; and maternal great-grandparents, Arthur and Stella Hutchinson.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the church.

It was a foggy night and the cars crossed the center line around a curve on Rt. 47 and Kenmar St. Jennie died instantly and Lindsay was left in a coma with uncountable injuries. Lindsay was able to recover and graduate on time with her class. This tradgic event impacted our entire high school. Even those that didn't know her very well knew what a genuine person she was.
