Daughter of James England and Laura Norvella (Chord) Power. Her grandfather George Power was one of the influential pioneers of Sangamon County. She was a graduate of the Bettie Stuart Institute of Springfield and attended Kirkland School in Chicago. Her husband Frank preceded her in death.
Her lyric poetry was published in newspapers and several magazines. She was a board member of the Sangamon County Historical Society, member of Daughters of the American Revolution, IL State Hisotrical Society and National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry F. Estill Jr. and Mrs. Emmet Glore; two grandsons.
