A. C. Whiteside Funeral Held Here
Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Seydler Funeral home at 3 p.m. for Alpheous Clinton Whiteside of Harwood who died in Luling hospital at 3:50 a.m. Monday. Burial will take place in the City cemetery with the Rev. C. B. Hall of Luling and the Rev. M. T. Jenkins, pastor of the Eastside Baptist church in charge of the last rites.
Whiteside was born in Holly Springs, Miss., on April 21, 1877, being the son of James and Ida Talley Whiteside of Mississippi. He was a member of the Baptist church and had made his home in the Harwood community for his entire lifetime.
His first wife, the former Mae Person, died in 1922, and he married Mrs. Lillie Penn later, she surviving him.
Also surviving him are sons, Ross Whiteside, Luling, Alpheous Whiteside, Harwood; daughters, Mrs. W. L. Simmons, Luling; Mrs. Roy Turner, Seguin; Mrs. Harold Radford, Kenedy; Mrs. Raymond Davis, San Antonio; the former Lucille Whiteside, adress unlisted and Miss Doris Whiteside, Harwood; two brothers, Manor and Ed Whiteside, both of Gonzales; and 12 grandchildren.
