Marcus Evarts Wilkinson, Jr.

Marcus Evarts Wilkinson,
Jr. passed away in Big
Springs, Texas, June 6, 2003,
after a valiant battle against can-
cer.

A memorial service was held
June 9. He will be remembered
by his Vivian High School
nickname of "Ging". He was a
member of the VHS football
team 1939, 1940, and 1941. He
later attended the University of
Texas.

He was born to Marcus E.,
and Elizabeth Hart Wilkinson in
Silome Springs, Ark. He was a
veteran of World War II having
served in the Naval Air Corps as
a naval aviator. He was an avid
golfer and hunter.

Wilkinson was a member of
the Masonic Lodge for 47 years
in Louisiana, Kentucky, and
most recently in Cahoma, Tex.

A.F. and A.M.

He was the grandson of Rhoda
Perry Hart and Tycus Hart. His
grandfather was founder and pres-
ident of the old bank in Vivian.

Marcus Wilkinson, Jr.

BIG SPRING - Marcus Evarts Wilkinson, Jr., 78, died Friday, June 6. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.

He was born to Marcus Evarts and Mary Elizabeth Wilkinson in Siloam Springs, Ark. on July 29, 1924. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Naval Air Corps as a Naval Aviator and Flight Instructor.

Survivors include his wife, Dana Boyles Wilkinson; two daughters, Marcia Hamby of The Woodlands and daughter, Dana Lea Wilkinson of Big Spring; son, Marcus Evarts Wilkinson III of Big Spring; his sister, Rhoda Morton of Slidell, La.; a grandson and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tycus Hart Wilkinson.

The family suggests memorials to the Masonic Home and School for Children, P. O. Box 15040, Fort Worth, 76119.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring.

Marcus Evarts, affectionately called "Ging", was the second born of three siblings to Marcus Evart Wilkinson, Sr., and Mary Rhoda Elizabeth "Lib" Hart Wilkinson, of Vivian, Caddo Parish (county), Louisiana. His siblings were Tycus Hart "Buster" Wilkinson, and Rhoda Elizabeth Wilkinson Morton.

Husband of Hardanna Lamarr Boyles Wilkinson. They were married on December 14, 1948. Their family was of three siblings, Marcia Anne, Dana Lea, and Marcus Evarts III.
