Welsh Baptist Minister. He emigrated with his family from Wales to America in 1854. He lived in Ashland and Pottsville where he worked in the mines. He was a self educated man particularly in regards to the scriptures and eventually moved to the Wyoming Valley and began preaching. In 1878, he was ordained into the Baptist Church. He was a highly respected preacher and even returned twice to his native Wales to visit and preach in his native language. Contemporaries said "he was most sincere in character" and had "the most peaceable of spirit" . He had seven sons and two daughters. Died aged 72 years.
