Cpl. W. H. Jackson (Norma Aanenson), daughter of Mrs. Otelia Aanenson received war department telegram Monday informing her that her husband "Dud" Jackson had been killed in action.
Cpl. Jackson, a radio-gunner on a B-24 Liberator, was stationed with the army air force in Italy. He had been overseas since January 15, and on April 14, he wrote his wife that he has completed 10 missions.
The young man took his radio training at Sioux Falls army air base and had visited Luverne many times while he was stationed there.
He and Miss Aanenson were married on July 29, 1944, at Yuma, Ariz., where he trained as a gunner. He was stationed at several other places before going to riverside, Calif., his last base before leaving this country.
He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Jackson, of Wilmington, Calif.
Mrs. Jackson, who has been living in California, has been visiting here for the past month. She plans to leave Today on her return there.
