Mrs. Maud Isely
The death of Mrs. Maud E. Isely at a Rest home in Sabetha Wednesday, August 11, 1965 took one of Fairview's oldest citizens--oldest in age and number of years of residence.
She had been in frail health for several years but her last illness was of only a few days.
Mrs. Isely was born near Fairview December 18, 1878 and spent her whole life in this community. She was married to William F. Isely on March 7, 1895 and they lived on the same farm in Spring Grove neighborhood until they retired to Fairview in 1910. She was devoted to her family She was an active member of the United Church of Christ as long as she was able. Mr. Isely passed away October 14, 1959.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harvey Rieger of Fairview; one granddaughter, Mrs. Wilbur Hartter of Fairview; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters M. Mabel Ellis of Shawnee, Kansas, Mrs. Ellen Nolkemper of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, 1965 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ with the Rev. Edward Fresen. Burial will be in the Isely Cemetery. --The Fairview Enterprise, August 12, 1965
